Section 3, "Yangshengzhu" ("Nourishing the Lord of Life"), Zhuangzi, says: "What we can point to are the faggots that have been consumed; but the fire is transmitted (elsewhere), and we know not that it is over and ended." Chapter 54 of Unofficial History of the Scholars says: "All glories will end up being in vain when things are no longer together. As one piece of fuel is consumed, the flame passes to another. Craftsmen in markets will get benefitsl." Therefore, the term "the flame passing to another" (xin chuan) refers to the situation in which faggots (or fuel) can be consumed, but kindling (fire, or flame) still remains. Therefore, the principle of art and culture development should be also like this – handing down from one to another generations and continuing without end. When New Year is coming, our Chinese Legacy Culture and Education Association will have an exhibition be held. Thanks to National Taiwan Arts Education Center for providing Xiaotiantan Theatre, the exhibition will take place. The pieces of water-ink paintings, watercolour paintings, graphic prints, and calligraphic writings made by our Association's art lovers such as Yuan-shan Wu, Jiu-min Chen, Nai-ren Yin, He-rong Zhang, Xi-yuan Chen, Zhong-xin Cha. We wish all of you can come to see these wonderful works and we welcome you to offer your advice and opinions.
