Charm of Lotuses Graceful Bearing of Gentlemen — 2009 Polish and Taiwanese Celebrated Painters' Lotus Paintings and Photographs Group Exhibition

Lotuses have many different postures. Since` ancient times, they have profoundly become objects of love for many scholars and people of refined taste. Also, a love of lotuses can reflect other aspects such as religion, literature, art, and everyday life. Pictorial decorations concerning lotuses can be easily seen everywhere. Until now, lotus culture has become phenomenal. Lotuses are even a symbol of lifting up moral integrity and virtue. Their influence is more than imagination and becomes very profound and eternal indeed.
In the exhibition with the theme of lotuses, artists are free to use their own mediums and expressions to depict lotuses’ graceful postures and gentlemanship nature or holy and pure implication of Buddhist culture. This exhibition certainly manifests their artistic talent through their way of depicting lotus flowers. It can be said to be a brilliant and grand display. In addition, we also invite a Polish photographer, Edyta Wittchen, to come to Taiwan. Her over-30 pieces of photographs will be exhibited so that the viewers can see how an artist from another country looks at lotus culture. It is hoped that through this excellent art exhibition, international cultural exchange can go forwards.
