Painter: Wu, Shu-Ying. After being a teacher for 30 years, she is retired now. She is greatly honored to have been listed as one of The Taichung female painters and Taichung contemporary painters by the Cultural Bureau of Taichung City Government. The theme of this show focuses on natural beauty and characters [ persons ]. In the "natural beauty" category, most of the creations are her personal experiences on travelling. They present not only the places where she has been, but also the feeling and understanding of beauty. As on the " characters “ category, based on the idea of " paint what you think, note what you love “, she concentrates on her family [ including some relatives ] and friends. She has a strong belief that works of art should touch her deeply before they can have an impact on others. So she purposely highlights the subtle facial expressions of the characters.
