Wang Qiao, a certified student, accidentally explained a drawing lot of marriage for He Jin-Lian, the daughter of prime minister, and obtained his own name and the name of He Jin-Lian consequently. A citizen Lai-Bao was bothering about his wife Zhao-Di who was not good at cooking, and learned unintentionally that a valuable treasure, the three-legged golden cooking vessel, in the prime ministers house was available for changing regular foods to delicious dishes. Lai-Bao came to the prime ministers house and tried to steal that treasure. But he didnt realize what he stole was the god statue of Gold Star. He then gave it to Wang Qiao who did not know about the truth. The prime minister was very angry and gave an order to arrest that thief. Lai-Bao decided to rescues Wang Qiao to make up for what he had done嚗 A theft case became a situation of failure to arrest the theft, and loosing the daughter.
Focus嚗Taiwanese Operas always reflect the real world with a fundamental comedy theme. Just like the Sanhua (clown) in this play who teases the audience through vivid lines with slang and songs, and funny movements of little citizens.
