Adapted from the award-winning novel by the late writer Liao Feng-De (pen name Liao Lei-Fu), the story is set in a village of Yilan in the 50s. It centers on the fates of 2 boys grew up together like brothers: how they change as our society evolves and how their fate become different as they go on their separate ways – the ups and downs of their life, the friendship, love, and families. Through the brilliant interpretations of Taiwan’s national treasures – Peng, Qia-Qia and Xu, Xiao-Shun, the life of ordinary people is presented to the audience.
