The artist I-Jiang Kadadepan comes from aboriginal Puyuma tribe of Jhihben Community in Taitung. In his art works, the subjects are aboriginal people, things and matters and mythological stories. Among all his works, the elaborate and true-to-life bronze sculpture "Expression of Orchid Island" is the work portraying children and parents and conveying aboriginals' innate kindness and passion vividly. The work "Loneliness of Brave Warrior" is to focus on an aboriginal hero's facial expression – manifesting his inner fear, hopelessness and helplessness while facing rapid transformation of times.
The bronze sculpture, "Romance between Human and Deer in Kasavakan," which deals with Puyuma mythological stories once won the first prize in the "Nationwide Aboriginal Art Competition." In this work appealing to judges and guests, aboriginal mythology is ingeniously brought into bronze art.
Those who love and are concerned with aboriginals can understand the most primitive culture and memories in the land of Taiwan and be guided to appreciate simple and romantic aboriginal expressions through the artist's works.
