作者蕭木川，1958年生於嘉義布袋，屏東教育大學視覺藝術教育研究所畢業，曾任高雄市兒童美術教育學會理事長，現任高雄市援中國小校長、中華民國台灣南部美術協會常務理事。由於一直以來專心於油畫創作，再加上幸得恩師陳瑞福老師和中華民國台灣南部美術協會畫壇前輩的指導與鼓勵、不斷學習創作，獲獎紀錄有台陽美展銅牌獎、優選獎、全國油畫展優選、高雄獎、全國教師美展、省公教美展優選、全國百號大展優選等。
十幾年來幾乎走遍台灣這塊美麗的島嶼的他，對台灣的海邊、港口、高山、鄉村、古厝、煙樓等美麗的景觀，留下深刻的印象，因此鄉土題裁就成為他創作的泉源，同時也紀錄了他對這片鄉土的熱愛。
作者此次辦展是將多年來努力成果做一忠實的呈現，期望各位愛好者蒞臨指教與指導。

The author, Xiao Mu-Chuan, born in 1958, at Bu-Dai, Jia-Yi, graduated from Art Education Graduate School of vision arts, Pin-Dong Education College, and ever held the post of the director-general of Children's Art Education Association, Gaoxiong City, now is the principal of Yuan-Zhong Elementary School, Gaoxiong Cisty, and Routine Director of Art Association, Southern Taiwan, ROC. Due to a long term for being absorbed in the creation of oil paintings, and with the direction and encouragement by teacher Chen Rui-Fu and painting senior from Art Association, Southern Taiwan, ROC, he received many awards, such as the bronze medal and high-class award of Taiyang Arts Exhibition, excellent selections of the National Oil Painting Exhibition, the National Teachers' Arts Exhibition, Provincial Government Exhibition and the national Big Exhibition.
For more than ten years, he has almost gone over the whole Taiwan island, that gives him deep impression for beautiful views of beach, ports, high mountains, villages, old hoses and smoking buildings in Taiwan. Therefore, homeland themes become his creative wellsprings and allow him to record his affection to this land.
The time of exhibition held by the author presents the faithful presentation for many years of efforts, in the hope of every lover coming to give advice.
