作者陳芳宜，目前任職於「交通部中央氣象局玉山氣象站」，號稱全國上班地點最高的公務員，其路程也最為遙遠，每次皆要步行一天左右。
從小在阿里山長大的他，於17、18歲時因想紀錄下阿里山的美，開始鑽研攝影技巧，經過20年來自行摸索、參考各相關書籍及和同好討論，已從無師自通，轉化成純熟的攝影技巧。
由於進幾年來國人對休閒、登山及結合藝術的重視，再加上之前國人對台灣意象的選拔，玉山；在國人的心裡早已無可取代。玉山既是台灣的一個象徵性，而作者又與玉山朝夕相處，故藉此展出機會將玉山之美帶給國人。

The author, Chen Fang-Yi, presently holds the post at Jade Mount Weather Station, Central Weather Office, the ministry of Communications, which is said the official officer working at the highest place with long distance and taking a day or so for going to the office on foot every time.
At the age of 17 or 18, he, who grew up in A-Li Mount since a child, started to learn photograph techniques for the intent to keep the beauty of A-Li Mount. After 20 years of self-fumble and reference to related books and discussion with collaborators, he has transformed from a researcher learning from it without a teacher into a skilful photographer.
Due to recent years for appreciation of associating arts with leisure and mountains climbing, Yu Mount has become the first mountain which is a symbol of Taiwan, and the author has been in Yu Mount day and night, so he will bring the beauty of Yu Mount in this exhibition.
