看畫家劉漢文的畫，會讓人有種「時空交錯」般的心靈振盪，寫實的筆觸所描繪的是帶點冷眼式幽默的抽象表達，愛上水彩十五年的他說：「選擇水彩，是因為它的不確定性，以及畫上去就不好改的絕對。」在他的畫中，找不到一般水彩畫的單薄感，只有水性顏料的多層次透光性所暈染出類似水墨效果的東風神韻，以及畫中的主角們----狗、貓、虎、昆蟲等在熟悉的生活風景中與人心靈交會。
在多層次的水彩渲染中，他將看來單純的畫面，以融會國畫意境與科幻時空的特殊表現方法讓樸實自然的作品多了一點神秘感。喜愛求新、求變、對任何事都感到好奇的個性，讓他樂於嘗試各種顏料調法與畫法，這種勇於創新的個性也反應在他所說的：「對畫的體驗有多少，可以不受限的範圍就有多少」創作理念中。
