璽印的使用，可遠溯到商周時期，本作為檢封之用，亦為代表個人或單位的圖騰，魏晉以後，紙的發明使印的形式從泥封轉為鈴印朱記；唐宋以後與書畫創作相結合，文人將印章不斷的引入書畫和生活中，從印材、刻印的技法、形式、文字內容、創作思想、藝術理論，都使篆刻成為一門獨特多彩而與生活非常親膩的藝術。
本館藝教研習篆刻書法班，已有十餘年的歷史，學員樂於此中尋求方寸間的世界，在納須彌於芥子的思緒空間，其樂融融，篆刻的用字取諸篆書，款書為個體書法，所以這次也一並展出，其將研習的喜樂與諸方共享。
The use of imperial seal could be found in Dynasties Shang and Zhou that originally was used for checking and sealing, also represented the totem of a person or an agency. After Dynasties Wei and Jin, due to the invention of paper, the type of seal was changed from ink seal to Ling-Yin Zhu-Ji (seal cutting and red ink seal); after Dynasties Tang and Song, it combined with calligraphy and painting that literati continuously introduced seals into calligraphy, painting and living, from the materials of seal, the skill of seal cutting, the contents of characters, the thinking of creation, the theory of art, cause seal cutting to become a unique, colorful art which is very close to our life.
