由教育部主辦，國立臺灣藝術教育館承辦之「中華民國第17屆全國美展」，每三年舉辦一次，為國內公辦大型美展歷史最悠久者。展覽分為競賽與邀請兩部分，作品橫跨十個類別。本屆邀請了159位當代美術名家提供代表近作參展，其中本屆評審委員約有76位送件。所有作品在國內巡迴展出完畢後，特別挑選評審委員之邀請作品，分兩階段於本館藝廊展出，第一階段為10月28日至11月16日，展出油畫、水彩、版畫、設計、雕塑等作品；第二階段為11月18日至12月6日，作品類別包括國畫、書法、篆刻、攝影、工藝，歡迎民眾蒞臨賞析。
Ministry of Education and National Taiwan Art Education Center hold this "The 17th National Art Exhibition, ROC ", once every three years, and also the huge art exhibition with longest history in Taiwan. The exhibition divides into contest and invitation division, and demonstrates ten categories of works. This year, we invite 159 known artists to demonstrate their works, and amongst our judges this year, 76 of them contributed their works for exhibition. All of works, after national serial exhibition, our judges will pick some works and demonstrate them in our art gallery in this Center in two stages. The first stage, from October 28 to November 16, we will demonstrate works including oil painting, water coloring, printmaking, design, and sculpture. The 2nd stage, from November 18 to December 6, we will demonstrate works including Chinese painting, calligraphy, seal carvings, photography, and crafts, for all of our guests to appreciate.
