水彩具有流暢、明快的特性，很適合表現大氣的光影與色彩，豐富而透明的層次是其他媒材所不能及。它可以細膩刻畫，也可以輕描淡寫，雖然它的技巧性高、水份乾濕控制不易，但也因此產生了許多偶然效果，更刺激了畫家創作的靈感。
陳志成老師分別於國立臺灣藝術教育館與台北市立美術館教授水彩畫已有十餘年的時間，本次展出以風景畫為主，題材充滿了對大自然的歌頌與本土的情感，其中更有兒時的懷舊回憶。
許多人小時候都有畫水彩畫的經驗，感覺上水彩畫與一般人較為親近，且讓大家用輕鬆的心情來欣賞這次展出。
Aquarelle is affluent and sprightly so that it is so suitable to express the lights, shadows, and colors of atmosphere with ample and transparent layers, which other materials cannot compare to. It is able to portray delicately and downplay. Although it requires high techniques and is not easy to control the dryness of wet, plenty of accidental effects are produced to stimulate more the inspirations of creations of artists.
Mr. Chen Chih-cheng has had tough aquarelle in National Taiwan Arts Education Center and Taipei Fine Arts Museum for more than 10 years. The theme of this exhibition is landscape, which is full of praises of nature and local emotions with retrospective memories of childhood.
Many people experienced the aquarelle in the childhood; aquarelle is more intimate with the public to make everyone to appreciate the exhibition in the relaxed temper.
