近年來作者以寫實細膩的華麗筆調,隱喻象徵性的手法進行一系列以古物為主題的創作。作品雖以古老物件為元素,依照時間在形式構圖與主題內容上,作者將主題表現形式歸納為三階段:一、古老物件的詠歎憑弔與追憶,1997年~1999年作品。畫面圖象較多而繁雜,畫作中的物件錯落重疊。在蒐羅古舊物品的同時,也像循著時間的軌跡,拼湊出對這片土地的記憶。二、繁華落盡-稍縱即逝的璀璨華麗,1999年~2002年作品。此階段作品多延續初期繪畫形式,僅以簡單之象徵隱喻性物體來呈現,繁冗的構圖與矯飾詭譎的華麗色調對應引喻時間歲月頹敗枯骨之物。三、霓裳羽衣-威權體制下的女性形貌,2002年~2005年作品。畫面中作者以抽離人物形體僅殘存的衣物摺痕「隱喻」或以物件「象徵」的樣貌來指涉混沌、曖昧的意識形態,不論是爛漫彩繡衣飾或是華麗頭冠皆以具象的形體,語彙來暗指抽象的概念寓意。歡迎您一同來觀賞。
I have attempted in recent years to use a realistic, detailed, and resplendent tone and metaphorical, symbolic methods to create a series of works concerning old things. Although antiques constitute the main elements of these works, I have expressed the topics in the following three stages based on the time they were made:
1.Recalling and paying homage to old things: These 1997~1999 works contain many, complex pictures. The objects are disorderly and overlapping. Gathering all these antiques was like following a path back in time, which let me piece together memories of the land. 2. Vanished splendor--fleeting brilliance: These 1999~2002 works mostly continue the styles of my earlier paintings. They express their meaning using only simple, symbolic, metaphorical objects. The busy, chaotic compositions and affected, weird objects of beauty correspond to decadent long-dead things. 3. Rainbow garments, adorned robes--appearance of women under the authoritarian regime: In these 2002~2005 works I used the metaphor of abstract human figures consisting only of the folds of clothing or symbolic objects to refer to a chaotic and ambiguous ideology. The concrete formal vocabulary of decadent embroidered clothing and magnificent phoenix coronet hints at abstract concepts.
