閻瑞芝1917年生，遼北省四平人，北京師範學校畢業，一生愛好美術，畫出我自己的心靈之作，先由拓墨畫開始，現在進入書法寫體的第二個時期，因為我寫甲古文多年，用甲古文來畫，名為「畫中字，字中畫」是我新作品，我接受了各方面的迷惑，欣賞的批評，我知道是必然的結果。
改變我的畫風有四點：一、因我有感於中國古文字的美感。二、結合現代抽象畫的結構變化。三、融合民間色彩。四、發揚中國古文字和繪畫同源觀念，創出我自己的風格和技法。曾經舉辦個展三次，並參加日本、大陸、金門聯展多次，並獲得佳作獎，頗受好評。

Yan Rui-zhi was born at Siping Hsien, Liaobei Province in 1917, graduated from Beijing Normal University. She is absorbed in painting all her life and wants to draw with her mind. It is beginning for her to draw scribbling sketch and then, as the second period, she has entered a realm to draw with calligraphy. Because having learnt oracle-bone scriptures many years, she can draw with these scriptures, titled as "Characters in Paintings, and Paintings in Characters". All her new paintings have made the spectators of all circles puzzled and enjoyable critique. Both of them she is pleased to take for granted because it is a natural ending.
There are four reasons which have influenced her on her painting fashion: (1) a sense of beauty of Chinese palaeography; (2) the structural change from the combination of modern abstract paintings; (3) folk colors to be melted; and (4) to add the glory to the idea that Chinese palaeography and painting come from the same origin,and to create her painting fashion and technique. She has had her one-man show three times.
