中國傳統繪畫要求「筆簡意遠」，以最少的筆墨表達最多的意境。人物畫是以線寫形，線的曲直、剛柔、粗細、輕重、繁簡組合成一幅人物畫，運用線來表達意境。因此，人物畫必先掌握筆法才能表達畫家的精神意識傾向，達到「創意」、「得意」的境界。
國立臺藝術教育館為加強社會教育，推廣藝術教育活動，自民國七十八年起即設立各種藝術教育研習班，其中，禮聘之人物A班吳文彬老師是國內數一數二堅持傳統道路的傑出仕女畫家。他靈活運用白描、游絲、鐵線、蘭葉等線條，造就了美人的衣著，精巧的工筆也畫活了一個古典女性的嫻慧高雅氣質，更難得的是他在傳統人物畫領域中不計名利默默奉獻、傳薪續火數十年，只為能培養出更多喜愛工筆人物畫的人才。
此次工筆人物畫初展即由一群喜愛藝文的朋友，在吳老師辛勤教誨下，於藝教館課堂上不斷傳移模寫並同心和諧互相扶持的成果，期望能傳遞美的訊息給喜愛工筆畫的同好，更期盼能引起更多迴響、不吝指教並攜手築夢。
Simplicity in pen and promising in mind is desired by Chinese traditional drawing. A drawing with a little pen and ink expresses much promising in mind. A figure drawing is composed with lines which construct the form by their curves, toughness and gentleness, thickness and roughness, lightness and heavy; As to express a frame of mind by the lines, the painter must have the brush drill in his grasp before painting a figure drawing. Only by this, the drawing will reach the field of creativity and complacency.
In order to strengthen the social education and to extend the art education activities, National Taiwan Art Education Institute has established since 1989 various classes for art education study. Wu Wen-bin, one of the distinguished figure painters, insisting in the traditional road, has been cordially invited as an instructor of Class A. He knits the beauty's clothes with sketching, gossamer, iron lines, orchid leaves. And he also draws classic Chinese beauties with their quiet and refined quality. It is rarely that he contributes his brilliance in figure painting to students for nothing many years, hoping to cultivate more people to become gifts of figure drawing in elaborate style.
