在社會事件層出不窮，青少年問題日益嚴重的情況下，維他露基金會主辦的第十三屆維他露兒童美術獎「畫出大地的愛」全國兒童繪畫比賽，以「不飆車、不吸毒，守著陽光守著你」為主題，讓國家未來的主人翁，從中思考關心他人、幫助他人的重要，達到愛惜自己、珍視家庭，進而與同學互助學習感恩與回饋的心，因此獲得學校、老師和家長鼎力支持，作品收件近三萬件，其影響力可見一般。
本活動先於八月五日由十六位國內資深兒童美術專家從全國作品中評選出九百六十件入選，並挑選八十件準優選的小朋友於十月二十五日假台中公園參加現場寫生總決賽，評選出最後十二名維他露獎及三十六名優選獎得主。
為了讓更多人關懷與重視青少年問題，也為獎勵辛苦創作獲獎的小朋友，讓大家得以欣賞他們別出心裁的作品，優選獎以上四十八件作品將巡迴全台各地展出，屆時歡迎社會大眾踴躍前往參觀，給予得獎作品最大的鼓勵。
As social incidents happen again and again and the teenagers' problems become serious day after day, the Vitalon Foundation turns out in time this activities of the Thirteenth Term of Vitalon Children's Award for Fine Art, with a slogan: "To Draw the Earth's Love", emphasizing "No Speeding a Car! No Smoking the Poisonous goods! Holding the sun and holding yourself. From these activities, the teenagers supposed to be the future masters of our country, can think about the importance to help other people who need to be helped, self-cherished, family-valued, and to learn studying mutually with classmates not only thankfully but feedbackly. Because of support from teachers and parents, about three hundred thousand pieces of art words were collected and that would be expected to have much influence.
960 pieces of art works were selected from the works of all the ones from all over the country by 16 senior painters of children's drawing on August 5, 2003. 80 pieces came out in the second selection. and the winners were invited to take part in the drawing on the spot at Taichung Park on October 25, 2003. At the final examination, 12 winners came out and 36 superiors were decided.
To make more people learn to concern and pay attention to the teenagers' problems, and to encourage the winners and superiors by means of this Circulating Fair to have more than 48 pieces of their excellent works. Your presence to the spot is highly appreciated and would give these winners and superiors great encouragement.
