In The Story of the Western Tower: Tearing Up the Letter, fragrant paper bears delicate words, yet a blank letter becomes an enigma, leaving the heart’s true feelings impossible to fathom. In Miscellaneous Plays from the Pavilion of Chanting in the Wind: The Abandoned Banquet, a solitary lamp flickers with dripping wax, an old woman speaks in drunken candor, and the prime minister is overcome with thoughts of his mother.
