楊秀卿女士13歲即跟著養姐蕭金鳳四處走江湖賣唱，由於天資聰穎，她的唸歌很快就受到大家的喜歡；為了增加戲劇效果，她獨創口白歌仔，男女老幼、喜怒哀樂等各種不同的聲腔表情，很受大家的歡迎，到了五十歲開始收受門徒（本團團主洪瑞珍即為她的嫡傳弟子），傳授這項技藝，並於1989年榮獲教育部說唱藝術類的薪傳獎，真是實至名歸，今年欣逢楊秀卿老師七十歲大壽暨結婚五十週年紀念，為了讓大家目睹她的風采，並邀請當年的搭檔養姐蕭金鳳女士，及楊老師的一些好姊妹，再次同台演出，實在是難能可貴，也算是學生送給她的生日賀禮。
Following her adopted sister Xiou Jing-feng, Ms. Yang Xiou-ching from her 13 years old wandered the world and earned a living by singing. Because of being intelligent by natural endowments, she was soon welcomed with her speaking and singing. She created herself a kind of soliloquy Taiwan opera including multi-sound and facial expressions of the feelings of joy, anger, sorrow and delight. When she came to her fifty years old, she started to accept disciples and teach this skill.In 1989, she was rewarded for Speaking-Singing Art Passing from Master to Pupil in Endless Succession by Department of Education, Republic of China. It should be the best gift for her birthday.
