Taken from Tennessee Williams's famous play The Glass Menagerie, this play, having two versions and four directors, combines classics with new ideas to form a novelty. In 1989, soon after martial law was abolished in Taiwan, everything was very uncertain. Taiwan was full of all kinds of possibilities for freedom and releasing anxieties. So these pushed the society forwards without hesitation. When vision and action moved forwards the future, how did people deal with the past – broken and old days? Is remembrance a kind of illusion? The reality behind the illusion will be told in Remembrance 1989.
