國光劇團新銳導演馬寶山為兒童青少年編導《風火小子红孩兒》，頑皮的紅孩兒戲耍唐三藏及孫悟空一行人，害得孫悟空被唐三藏誤會後驅逐出門，師徒就此分開。唐三藏為了要過火焰山，向鐵扇公主借扇。鐵扇與牛魔王用假扇騙走豬八戒和沙悟淨，擄獲唐三藏。孫悟空變作牛魔王從鐵扇身上騙走了真的芭蕉扇，牛魔王又變作豬八戒把扇子騙回來，大家互相變身騙來騙去，不到最後一刻，不知誰輸誰贏…
　
To entertain children and youth, the new director of Guoguang Opera Company, Bao-shan Ma, directs an opera called The Red-Haired Kid. The leading character is a naughty kid. In the plot, he tries to play some tricks on Syuan Zang (a high Buddhist priest), Monkey King and other disciples. So Monkey King is misunderstood and is expelled by Syuan Zang. Then both separate from each other. In order to cross Flame Mountain, Syuan Zang tries to borrow a fan from Princess Iron Fan. This princess and Bull Demon King employ a false fan to take away Monster Pig and Monster Sand and then jail Syuan Zang. Then Monkey King disguises himself as Bull Demon King and seizes a real Palm-leaf fan from the princess. But Bull Demon King changes himself to Monster King and takes it back. All of them have their metamorphoses to deceive everyone. Nobody knows who will win in the end.
