The Taiwanese painter Tsao Yu-An who currently lives in Japan grew up in the beautiful Yangmingshan from whence his deep bond and keen observation of nature originates. Because of his background, he has immersed himself in the world of Chinese landscape painting. Having lived in Japan for a long time, Mr. Tsao excels at depicting the beauty of the spring, summer, fall and winter in Japan. In recent years, street scenes in South-Asia and Malaysia have become one of his favorite subjects. Together with the Chinese landscape paintings of famous tourist attractions in Taiwan, Mr. Tsao brings the Taiwanese audience his interpretation of the culture of “Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan.”
Focus:Mr. Tsao adds watercolor paints and paints used in Japanese paintings to his Chinese landscape paintings to explore the characteristics of Mo-Tsai painting (coloured ink painting) and applies such effects as ink and colored paper, strokes and ink diffusion to create colored ink paintings depicting natural scenes and old street scenes.
