A mother and daughter, both teacher and friend to each other, have been painting together for thirty years.
The mother, Yu-Lien, focuses on the theme of “Rural Joy,” using burlap sacks from the 1950s to express her nostalgia for a farming family childhood.
The daughter, Kai-Wen, was born with a head injury and lives with sensory integration disorder and other challenges. Through her bold and vibrant use of color, she seeks to make up for the gaps and hardships in her life.
