This exhibition draws on the symbolic theme of “Fortune, Prosperity, Longevity, Happiness, and Wealth,” transforming the character for “longevity” (shou) into “beast” (shou) as a metaphor for graduates, like vigorous creatures, brimming with vitality and potential, and ready to confront the unknown. The exhibition presents works in traditional temple decorative arts, including wood carving, polychrome painting, Koji pottery, and paste decoration. It highlights techniques such as painted wooden architectural elements and ceramic shard ornamentation found in temple craftsmanship.
