Prune Tachi Show of Liu Guang Lei

The late master of Chinese art Liu Guanglei spent his life promoting the philosophy of Chinese painting and Chinese martial arts, particularly the school of “prune”and Taichi. He believed that both painting and martial arts are common in that they should both focus on lightness and stretching that avoid heaviness of touch. He has infused his philosophy of Taichi into his 38 paintings about prune trees and showed what Taichi has enlightened him. The motions and strengths required for Taichi are comparable with Chinese painting; therefore, he created the one-of-a-kind “Prune Taichi Painting” by combining the six methods of painting with those of Taichi.
Focus:All of Liu’s paintings feature the trunk as the body, root as feet and branches as hands to show each moves of Taichi. They are very special art works unlike any other Chinese paintings.
