The transArt NCTU Team, led by Professor Wen-Shu Lai, cordially invites the visitors to either upload their drawings of the "leaf of life" or download one of the leaves drawn by artists from the database to proceed with the planting of the virtual trees. The in-built algorithms will determine the basic appearance of the tree according to the leaf a visitor drew or downloaded and project it onto the screen in front of the visitor in real time. Then, through the wearable ECG/RESP sensor and the nine-axis sensor, the visitor's physiological and movement data will be collected and converted into various signals that modify the virtual tree's appearance and dynamic growth. In this way, the interactive installation is able to transform each visitor's digital leaf into a sui generis "tree of life," and all the trees will collectively form a virtual "forest of life."
