In order to enhance student's capacity for art creation, to cultivate citizens’ ability to appreciate and to put into effect school art education, the Ministry of Education has organized the National Student Art Competition. The 68th National Student Art Competition is divided into seven categories: elementary school section - painting, calligraphy, graphic design, comics, ink painting and prints; junior and senior high school (including vocational school) plus college section - western style painting, calligraphy, graphic design, comics, ink painting and prints. From elementary school to college, there are up to a total of 55 groups.
