Sixth grader Hsiao Bao-Ling was inspired by Yang Huan’s poem The Kingdom in Fairy Tales in Children’s Monthly and wrote her own story, A Realm of Fantasy, which was published. In 2024, marking the 70th anniversary of Yang Huan’s passing, she decided to paint her childhood kingdom in vivid colors to honor the poet’s inspiration.
