“Ki-kou! Ki-kou! The sound of the clogs comes closer; Fireflies, Let’s Drink Tea with the Banana Plants! Gently express in a song the mood of today, in joyful Taiwanese singing.” To put into practice local music education for elementary and high schools, and encourage diversity in song compositions, the Center put out a “Call for Teaching Materials of Taiwanese Local Music-Ensembles” in 2008. To encourage popular singing of such songs, choirs of elementary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools were invited to participate in the performance. Through the singing, audiences were invited to enjoy the charm of original Taiwanese local songs, and experience the beauty of Taiwanese culture as revealed in the music.
Focus：The “Call for Teaching Materials and Creative Works of Taiwanese Local Music” includes two parts, commissioned compositions and a call for musical pieces. All the songs collected are original works with Taiwanese styles and culture as the theme, whereby the beauty of Taiwan may be appreciated through music.
