The founder of Wang You-Lang Huangmeidiao (yellow plum melodies) Troupe, Dr. Wang You-Lan excels in Peking Opera, Min Opera, Yellow Plum Melodies地 total of eight different kinds of opera. She starred in the Huangmeidiao drama The Female Prince Consort in 1990 and was invited to perform Beijing drum songs and Huangmeidiao songs in Korea. 20 years later, she and the rest of the leading actors of this performance founded this troupe.
